Rep. Jared Polis's Profile

Jared Polis served on the Colorado State Board of Education from 2001-2007. He also founded two charter schools in Colorado. In 2004, he established the New America School to address the challenges faced by older, immigrant youth in public high schools. In the fall of 2005, he co-founded the Academy of Urban Learning for teens who struggle with homelessness or unstable living conditions. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2008.
