Charles Grassley received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. He farmed and worked in factories in Iowa until he was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 1959. He represented Iowa for three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1980 he was elected to the U.S. Senate. He is one of 28 Senators in history to cast over 10,000 votes in the Senate. Official Biography
